Pisso
Bootcamp project
A digital platform that aims to make renting easier and more enjoyable for everyone involved – tenants and landloards. The app walks you through every step of the rental process, from finding the perfect place, to saying goodbye at the end of your lease. With features that foster a sense of community and trust, Pisso brings everything you need together in one place, so you can focus on what matters most – finding your ideal home or finding the right tentant.

Insights
Landlord Insecurity: 4 out of 5 landlords, express feeling insecure when renting their properties to tenants. This is likely caused by the increase in non-payment of rents, which increased by over 270% in 2021. Such challenges contribute to the lack of trust in the rental process among landlords.
Tenant Frustration: On the tenant side, there's a clear need for more support throughout the rental journey. Many tenants find the process lengthy and frustrating, particularly when it comes to contacting landlords and introducing themselves.
Insecurity and Lack of Support: According to our survey of 67 potential users (primarily tenants), 90.7% believe that existing platforms fail to offer adequate support during the rental process. This suggests a dissatisfaction with the current platforms available. At the same time, 77.4% admit to feeling insecure when renting a property. Finally, a 88.7% perceive various barriers that complicate the rental process in Spain.

Hypothesis
If we create a sense of community, it will be easier for tenants and landlords to get to know each other and have references from others, as they will be able to see reviews and general information on each profile.
If we increase the visualization of the process, it will be less stressful for tenants and landlords, as they will have access to information about the steps that are completed, the steps that are missing, the number of applicants, visits information etc.
If we offer better filtering features, then both parties will have to invest less time, since tenants will be able to apply only to posts that accept their profile "type", resulting in a more precise search.
If we offer support during the whole process, it will be less stressful for tenants and landlords to contact, report an incident, and address any other type of need during the tenant's stay.

Solution/result
After detecting all the needs from users to improve the online rental process, we ended up creating Pisso, an end-to-end application that aims to increase transparency, community, and visualization of the rental process, to reduce the lack of trust and lack of support for both parties.
